But before he could say a single word, Qin Yue’s Snow-Drinking Blade had already arrived.
“There can’t be that many accidents in this world.” Shu Ouma shrugged, his expression beyond dispute, as if to say that his luck was not actually so terrible.
Takahashi Higashi did the calculations in his head. In other words, if this survival examination went as ideally as possible, a single class could gain 450 class points.
Given Teacher Bado Kirk’s usual style, he would probably send the itemized bill straight to the duke’s office, while embellishing the praise for Sephiroth in order to secure even more funding.
This time, he had suffered far more serious injuries. Most of his body had exploded, and he could clearly see his internal organs—some of which had already been reduced to flying ash.
A vast shadow loomed overhead. The Clever Fish, its entire body numb with terror, slowly turned its head. In an instant, eight of its three souls and seven spirits had fled.
He cursed furiously under his breath, inwardly calling down a thousand monstrous curses. He was practically ready to buy a watermelon knife and hack someone apart.
One after another, the ninja blades slid from their sheaths in a series of metallic scrapes, their edges lowered as the ninjas from the Hidden Mist Village launched their charge.
“Yes, right away! Master, please wait just a moment.” Hearing Ichigo’s command, the Hogyoku immediately answered with a bright smile and a crisp reply. It did not linger. With a flash of violet light, the Hogyoku’s figure vanished completely from the Zangetsu Guild. Clearly, it had already departed.
That person seemed to understand exactly what An Youran intended to do. With an absentminded gesture, they tapped her shoulder with one finger, and a warm current instantly flowed into her body. Her feeble, exhausted form seemed to regain its vitality.
With another wave of the hand, the peach garden before them vanished in the blink of an eye, becoming a quiet and elegant room.
Within the space of nearly ten square meters, figures flashed back and forth—sometimes erupting with fierce force, sometimes descending lightly—leaving behind only the sound of wind being torn apart.
“I think I’m about to throw up.” Ke Jing turned his head pitifully. Zhou Xuan stared at him for a moment, almost wishing he could slap him.
“That’s wonderful.” Ning Yuanlan smiled in relief. As long as Mother was willing to stay, she would be the happiest person in the world.

She nodded and walked over, never expecting him to draw her into his arms. Only then did she remember that, after she had injured her hand that time, he had taught her to cut vegetables by guiding her hand with his own.
Day after day, she would rise early to wash and dress, eat the scantest portion of food, exchange a few playful words with those around her, and then happily go to the riverbank to gaze across the water.
Her back was pressed against the car door, while his chest pinned hers in place. He kissed her with such force that it seemed he meant to draw her tongue into his mouth. There was a hint of punishment in it, and as the kiss continued, he even lightly bit her lips.
So that was it… Love did not know where it began, yet once it started, it ran deep. The living might die for it, and the dead might return to life. If the living could not die for it, or the dead could not be reborn for it, then it was not love in its most profound form.
“I’m done!” When Ye Zhiyuan reached out his hand, Zhou Xuan hurriedly raised his own between them, pushing him away and refusing to let him come any closer. As if he would do it again—another round, and he would suffocate to death.
Back then, his heart had been pure and sincere. He had wanted to do something for the common people, and even more, he had wanted to do something for the imperial court.
Although their cooperation appeared flawless, it gave people the same strange impression as its own rhythm.
“What do you think?” Chen Rui did not answer him. Instead, he gently retrieved the beast-skin scroll from Hua Qiu’s arms. Bitterness filled Hua Qiu’s mouth. Despair enveloped him, and the strength seemed to drain from his body all at once, leaving him collapsed helplessly on the ground.
Even after she and Cui Changling had confessed their feelings to each other, and had joined hands through those years as both teacher and friend, Cui Changling would not simply protect her out of love, refusing to let her weather any storms or denying her the chance to grow.
The six men wanted to say more, but Northern Nether Hanxuan silenced them with a single command: “That will be all.” They could only watch the emperor’s retreating back and sigh mournfully.
He had naturally investigated Zi’er’s strength beforehand. Yet with his own abilities, how could he possibly see through Zi’er’s deliberately concealed power? Thus, he had assumed that Zi’er was merely an ordinary spirit tiger. Now that he suddenly heard her speak, he was naturally astonished.
Sun Yingchen was merely puzzled, but Lu Heng cast a glance at the coffee table. Sun Yingchen walked over. She did not read the contents of the magazine, but the title alone was enough for her to understand what “all-round development” meant and what kind of “multi-talented passerby” it described.
Downstairs, the young security guard Jameson had long since vanished without a trace. Only the snowy campus, returned to silence, remained for the two people standing in each other’s arms to admire at leisure.
Perhaps what had happened today was merely a coincidence, but she would rather believe it was the tacit understanding of two people whose hearts were connected.

The meaning of Second Old Master Gu and his brothers was simple: as long as the main branch continued caring for the elders of the Gu family, the fields would naturally be handed over to the main branch to manage.
“Why do you think the so-called gods are so cruel? Why do they eat human flesh and drink human blood until nothing remains but skeletons?” That was the question I most wanted to ask.
What god? I found it laughable. I had never encountered a god so shy in all my life. I worshiped it for ten days, yet I did not even know what it looked like. Even the idol in the shrine was covered with a layer of black cloth. All I knew was that the god was beneath that cloth. Beyond that, I knew absolutely nothing.
He made it sound so profound, but in the end he had said nothing at all. Looking at my master’s smug, mischievous expression, I ground my teeth with frustration.
Li Chengqian was destined to have no peace that night. One faction after another took the stage, like the turning images of a lantern show, stirring the Eastern Palace into utter chaos.
The firebird shrieked repeatedly as it beat its wings and flew away. The Azure Dragon pursued close behind, unwilling to let it escape. In the blink of an eye, it caught up. Opening its enormous maw, the Azure Dragon inhaled sharply and swallowed the fire spirit bird whole.
Arthur drew Beast’s Bite and traced markings across the ground. As the great sword moved, the outline of a magic circle gradually emerged.
Beneath a towering Silver-Crowned Tree, the commander of the wolf-rider unit, the prophet Faenris, leaned against the trunk with his eyes closed, resting. His mount lay lazily to one side.
In truth, years later, Ma Yong himself still wondered what he had meant when he said they would “bring honor” to the place. Did winning the fight count as bringing glory to Town No. 1 Middle School? What kind of glory was that supposed to be? If the town government officials heard about it, they would probably be furious enough to spit blood.
Su Lin had dealt with Tang Zhongwang’s group so effortlessly that Li Hao only realized how difficult the drinking contest was after stepping forward himself. After five cups in succession, Li Hao felt his stomach swell to the point of bursting. He could not drink any more. Another cup, and he would vomit.
