Chapter 11: The Great Sun Divine Fist
Returning to the room, the two gazed at each other and couldn’t help but kiss.
At the restless age of youth, it wasn’t long before their passion grew to an almost indescribable level.
Thankfully, Tang Xue’er was a reserved girl; she gently pushed Shen Xing away and whispered, “You’re so bad—it’s broad daylight right now!”
Shen Xing smiled, regaining some composure. “What’s wrong with daytime? We’re pure love; no one can interfere.”
“Tch, I think you just want to save a gift! Besides, you haven’t explained where you went yesterday. Could it be you have a secret lover?” Tang Xue’er placed her hands on her hips, speaking with a hint of stubbornness.
“Heh, you think highly of me. With my situation before, I hardly had two friends, let alone a lover. Who’d want a boyfriend who can barely speak? Yesterday, I was indeed trapped at an accident site, couldn’t find a chance to get out. Luckily, I found a safe place to hide overnight. Those people left today, so I hurried back.”
Shen Xing pondered for a moment but decided not to tell her the whole truth. After all, he hadn’t fully figured it out himself, and if it was truly dangerous, involving another person wasn’t necessary.
With that, he took out his phone and handed it to Tang Xue’er. “This is a martial skill I got. It’s not high-level but seems quite practical. If I remember correctly, you became a formal martial artist about six months ago, right? At that time, you should’ve received a free martial skill. I never knew which one you chose, but it probably wouldn’t be the same as this.”
Tang Xue’er took the device and quickly exclaimed in surprise, “It’s a D-rank ‘Fire Fist’!”
Shen Xing asked curiously, “That’s right. You know it?”
Tang Xue’er visibly brightened and even kissed Shen Xing excitedly on the cheek. “Of course I know! Actually, during the martial artist qualification test, the skills available afterward vary based on aptitude and potential. My aptitude and results were pretty average, so when I chose, almost all the options were E-rank skills. Occasionally, there’d be a couple of D-rank ones, but those were clearly useless trash. A premium skill like ‘Fire Fist’ wouldn’t be given to someone like me for free.”
Shen Xing felt pleased too. “That’s good. Having one more skill will boost my combat power a bit.”
“Wow, there’s so much information here! How did you get this? Amazing, Shen Xing. Do you know how much such skills sell for on the market?”
Shen Xing shook his head, admitting he didn’t know much about that.
---
“At least two hundred thousand! You could buy a decent car with that!” Tang Xue’er said.
Shen Xing raised his eyebrows—much higher than he expected.
Soon, Tang Xue’er began studying seriously, while Shen Xing excitedly looked at the system prompt that appeared.
[Gift successfully delivered! Triggering ten-thousand-fold return!]
[D-rank martial skill “Fire Fist” upgraded to S-rank martial skill “Great Sun God Fist”!]
[Great Sun God Fist: The ultimate form after advancing Fire Fist! Attacks carry multiple powerful special effects, to be unlocked gradually according to mastery level!]
At that moment, a blue icon resembling a skill book appeared in one of the inventory slots.
Seeing the description didn’t mention any learning requirements, Shen Xing tried using the skill book.
[Ding! Usage successful! Great Sun God Fist (Level 1) mastered!]
[Special Effect 1 Unlocked: Divine Radiance! Attacks emit dazzling blinding light that can blind the target. Activated state consumes more vitality; please remember.]
Shen Xing’s breathing grew heavy. “It really works! And I can learn it immediately!”
He hurried to the bathroom, closed the door, and punched toward the mirror.
Sure enough, a dazzling light flashed instantly, as blinding as the high beams of an oncoming car driving the wrong way on an overpass at midnight—completely impossible to keep one’s eyes open!
Even though Shen Xing deliberately stepped back from the mirror, it cracked with a loud sound, shattering into countless pieces.
“Not bad at all! Just the vitality consumption is a bit fierce…”
Shen Xing estimated that punch had consumed about a fifth of his vitality. If thrown at full strength, the cost would be even higher.
“So, I can barely throw five punches now? No, no, I have to train quickly and increase my vitality limit. Otherwise, having such a deadly weapon but not being able to use it freely is too frustrating!”
Determined, Shen Xing was interrupted by Tang Xue’er’s concerned voice from outside.
“Are you okay, Shen Xing? Did you break the mirror?”
“I’m fine. I accidentally hit it.”
For the rest of the time, the two stayed hidden in the room, fully dedicating themselves to training.
---
Time flew by and it was already the next morning.
Despite treating vitality pills like candy, Shen Xing made remarkable progress.
Though still of D-rank aptitude, his advancement was comparable to A-rank standards.
In just a day and a night, his vitality had increased by about twenty percent.
“Without leveling up, it’s hard to measure vitality precisely. When I reach Level 9 and become a formal martial artist, the authorities will issue a combat bracelet, and then my vitality will be visible in real-time. Just a little longer…”
Shen Xing sighed and headed to the bathroom for a shower.
Tang Xue’er ceased her study of Fire Fist and went over to punch a training dummy.
“Yeah!” She jumped up joyfully at the charred mark left on the dummy.
Shortly after Shen Xing finished showering, Tang Xue’er shared her excitement and mentioned wanting to take him to buy new clothes before she went to bathe.
While she was away, a knock sounded at the door.
Shen Xing opened it to find the maid who had delivered medicine earlier.
“Young Master Shen, the teacher from Qingbei Advanced Martial Arts is coming shortly. Madam hopes everyone will be present to show respect, so she sent me to invite you and Miss Xue’er.”
Shen Xing nodded. “Alright, I’ll wait for Xue’er to finish and then come down with her.”
“Very well. I’ll wait outside. If you need anything, please just say so.”
The maid spoke robotically and stepped aside but did not leave.
Shen Xing rolled his eyes and muttered internally, “Zhao Sujuan really doesn’t trust me. She’s afraid I’ll make her lose face if I get the chance, so she always has someone watch me. But come to think of it, she seems to trust this maid a lot… Why is that?”
Curious, Shen Xing reopened the door halfway and suddenly asked, “What’s your name?”
“Huh? Me?”
“Yes, you.”
“… Alice.”
“Not your maid’s name. Your real name.”
“… Zhao Zhenzhen.”
Since Shen Xing was still officially the young master of the Tang family, the maid, though reluctant, dared not openly disobey.
“Zhao? The same Zhao as Aunt Zhao?”
Shen Xing was stunned, feeling he might have found the answer.
Zhao Zhenzhen said nothing more.
Her silence was tacit consent, and Shen Xing understood.
“So it turns out she’s a relative of hers. No wonder. She’s never really worked much and always stays close to Qin Kezhen. If it weren’t for her clothes, people might think she’s her daughter.”
Shen Xing thought to himself.
Moreover, whether it was just his imagination or not, looking at her now, he suddenly noticed many similarities between Zhao Zhenzhen and Zhao Sujuan.
