Xu Luofu was in a terrible mood and decided not to attend class today. After checking in at the student affairs office and collecting her textbooks and uniform, she planned to head straight home.
“Hey, you, come here.” Standing by the student affairs office door, Xu Luofu casually called out to a bespectacled male classmate.
The boy hesitated for a moment, then walked over somewhat dazed.
“Pick these up,” Xu Luofu said, pointing to the large pile of books and several packs of uniforms, her tone utterly matter-of-fact. “Hurry up.”
Whether it was her natural, unquestioning attitude—as if he ought to obey—or the aggressive beauty that disarmed his resistance, the boy was left confused but complied obediently, picking up the items.
Xu Luofu strode ahead, saying, “Keep up.”
The driver had already brought the car back. Once the boy put down the items, the Rolls-Royce mercilessly sped away, leaving the bewildered young man standing alone in the wind.
Xu Luofu’s current home was located in an upscale residential area downtown—not purchased, but rented for two years. It was fully furnished and equipped, but the bed and mattress were cheap, which made sleeping difficult for Xu Luofu, who was used to mattresses worth millions.
When she arrived, her mother, Song Wen, was in the open kitchen preparing dinner, washing vegetables, with a young man assisting.
This young man was Xu Hanrui’s special assistant, surnamed Xu—a returning elite, young and accomplished—sent to help settle the mother and daughter in City Z. He was supposed to leave a couple of days ago but stayed on, probably because he found the two so clumsy and needed to help sort out various matters.
Xu Luofu treated him poorly, suspecting he was sent by Xu Hanrui’s family to spy on them, as though they feared the mother and daughter might disobey orders or run off somewhere.
She rolled her eyes and went straight to her bedroom.
“Assistant Xu, please don’t take it personally. Fufu means no harm,” Song Wen said softly, her eyes red.
“It’s alright,” the assistant replied. After a moment, he turned his gaze back to Song Wen and, as expected, saw her lowering her head to silently weep, tears sliding down her full cheeks and falling onto her trembling lips, a pitiful sight.
Though her daughter was sixteen, Song Wen maintained an exceptionally youthful appearance, with smooth skin free of wrinkles or spots, like a peeled egg—no one would believe she was older than twenty-something.
Since escorting them out of the capital, Song Wen had been crying nonstop, though her tears were quiet and not bothersome.
Over time, the assistant couldn’t help but think Xu Hanrui was ruthless—abandoning his wife and daughter so decisively, giving them so little money.
How could such a hot-headed, immature daughter and a delicate mother, who could only be protected by her husband, survive in an unfamiliar place?
So he did his best to help, including the twenty million planning fund.
Song Wen was very obedient, almost to the point of submission, accepting most of his advice, which pleased him greatly. Only one thing surprised him: she insisted on buying a Rolls-Royce and arranging a full-time driver for her daughter.
“Fufu has never been without these two since she was little. I have to make sure she keeps them; otherwise, she’ll be looked down upon at school,” Song Wen said. “I can do without fine clothes, jewelry, and bags, but not my daughter.”
Clearly, Xu Luofu’s princess-like temper was largely inherited from her mother.
But all of this was superficial, mere bubbles easily burst—what was the point?
The assistant wanted to make a sarcastic remark but, seeing Song Wen’s silent tears, swallowed his words. From another perspective, she was just a loving mother. What was wrong with that?
After helping Song Wen prepare the ingredients, his phone rang twice. He glanced down, then looked up and said, “Miss Xu has already checked in at school. Now that you’re settled, I will be leaving.”
“All right, thank you, Assistant Xu... Assistant Xu, when you go back, could you please talk to my husband again? How can he so easily give up after so many years of marriage?”
It had only been two months—from the moment his affair with that woman was discovered to the ruthless divorce and abandonment of the mother and daughter. It happened so quickly that no one could catch their breath.
The assistant looked into her moist, somewhat innocent eyes and after a moment said, “I’ll try.”

Yu Mingwan was indeed furious with Xu Luofu. After rushing home to wash her hair and shower, she wanted to settle the score at school, only to find Xu Luofu had checked in today, collected her uniform and books, and gone home, planning to attend school tomorrow.
So...
After school, inside the indoor basketball court.
A girl was shoved harshly to the ground, another grabbed her hair from behind, pulling her face upward.
Yu Mingwan stood with her arms crossed in front of her, nudging a box full of cockroaches on the ground. “You slut, was this on purpose? What kind of cockroaches are these? Disgusting!”
The girl’s scalp was painfully pulled so her eyes were wide open, shaking her head in terror but unable to resist, trembling as she apologized, “I’m sorry, please forgive me. I was wrong. I won’t do it again...”
“You admit your mistake? I like your attitude,” Yu Mingwan smiled and nodded, taking a bottle of water from beside her. “But those cockroaches really disgust me. I wish all the cockroaches in the world would disappear, starting with the ones you caught.”
The girl stared in horror at the water bottle.
Inside the bottle, a dozen cockroaches struggled in the water.
She tried desperately to back away, but three people held her down firmly, her head still pulled back, mouth forced open. Yu Mingwan twisted the cap and poured the water into her mouth.
“Wuwu...”
“Hahaha, drink up! Cockroach soup tastes good, hahaha...”
“Zhang Wenli, haven’t you eaten yet? Hold her down!”
Tears streamed down her face as she instinctively struggled and gagged. One cockroach crawled from her face onto the hand holding her, causing the person to scream and loosen their grip. One even crawled onto Yu Mingwan’s hand.
“Ah!” Yu Mingwan let go, and the bottle fell to the floor.
“Smack!” Angry, she slapped the girl back down to the ground.
“Damn it! If you don’t drink the toast, you’ll have to drink the penalty! Do you know what a dog is? It does whatever the owner says. If you refuse cockroaches today, tomorrow I’ll make you eat what dogs eat in the bathroom!”
“Wuwu...” The girl wept, looking at the crawling insects on the floor. Her already dim eyes grew darker and lifeless.
...
The next day.
Xu Luofu sauntered into Class 3, Grade 11 only after the bell rang.
The classroom was already full of students. The moment she entered, it was as if a magnetic field dispersed, and the noisy chatter instantly fell silent.
All eyes were on Xu Luofu, who showed no discomfort. Expressionless, she stood at the door, sweeping the class with a critical, dissatisfied, and aggressive gaze, as if nothing in the room pleased her.
A girl spoke up, “Classmate, your seat is over there,” pointing to an empty desk.
From Xu Luofu’s position, it was hard to see, but everyone else could clearly see that the desktop of the desk—moved in by the teacher yesterday—was covered in foul, obscene graffiti that made anyone who looked twice feel disgusted.
Everyone knew who was responsible, but no one dared to interfere.

The girl who spoke, Zhang Wenli, exchanged a malicious glance with Jiang Fangfang next to her. They were Yu Mingwan’s lackeys. Since Xu Luofu was now in their class, they naturally intended to teach her a lesson.
However, Xu Luofu didn’t even glance at the empty desk. Instead, she fixed her aggressive gaze on Zhang Wenli and walked toward her.
Seeing her approach, Zhang Wenli grew nervous. The classroom atmosphere tensed inexplicably.
“What do you want?”
“Move over,” Xu Luofu said. “I’m sitting here.”
“What? That’s my seat! Why—” Zhang Wenli flared up immediately.
“You stink. Did you eat shit this morning?” Xu Luofu suddenly covered her nose and mouth, disgusted.
Zhang Wenli’s face flushed red. She jumped up to push Xu Luofu but was quickly grabbed by the neck and thrown aside as if Xu Luofu had been expecting her. She crashed from the desk into the aisle, stunned.
Before she could react, Xu Luofu knocked all her books and stationery off the desk with a clatter, the sharp noise piercing the silent classroom.
Everyone was stunned, holding their breath.
Jiang Fangfang, who had been about to help, froze and quietly sat back down.
Xu Luofu tidied the desk, tossed her own books onto it, and sat down calmly. Then she looked down at Zhang Wenli with a mixture of disdain, scorn, and disgust. “You dare boss me around? That’s really annoying. Get lost.”
Zhang Wenli’s eyes reddened, her teeth chattering with anger. She wanted to protest, “I wasn’t bossing you! Just telling you where your seat is! Is that so offensive? Your threshold for annoyance is ridiculously low!”
But the teacher was already at the doorway. Unlike Yu Mingwan and the others, Zhang Wenli didn’t dare defy the teacher, so she hurriedly swept up her scattered books and moved to the seat prepared for Xu Luofu.
The filthy words on the desk were written by them, laughing and joking, intending to see Xu Luofu struggle to erase them. Who would have thought that just for a single comment, she had to bite her lip and clean it herself?
During the first period that morning, many students at Yuling International High School were frantically texting under their desks.
[Extra! Extra! Yu Mingwan’s top lackey Zhang Wenli suffers initial defeat, fails to bully transfer student and gets counterattacked. Transfer student is amazing!]
The campus forum exploded with activity after the post appeared.
[Déjà vu? Tell us the details! What happened?]
[Is the transfer student really awesome or just a fearless rookie?]
[I saw her arrive again today in a Rolls-Royce. Is she really an illegitimate child cast out by a wealthy family? Hope it’s not a misunderstanding.]
[If she’s not illegitimate, why would she be “sent” here? That place is the legendary Soffied Academy.]
[Then why is she so arrogant?]
[Just bluffing—or maybe she hasn’t come to terms with reality.]
[Waiting for Yu Mingwan’s retaliation, looking forward to it!]
