It seemed the warehouse door had been opened. Xu Luofu’s peripheral vision caught a shadowy figure, but she didn’t care at all—if one came, she would take them down one by one.
The two boys sitting on the crates, smiling and joking, suddenly stopped laughing. They involuntarily climbed down, their faces pale with fear, standing there helpless and confused.
They relied on their family backgrounds at school to bully others for fun. It wasn’t that no one had better status than them, but those people didn’t bother with such petty matters. Even if someone occasionally intervened out of kindness, they would just quiet down for a while, only to resume later or have someone else take over. Who could keep track of all that?
In short, they had always been the ones doing the bullying, arrogantly thinking they would always remain on top.
But now, Xu Luofu had easily made the girl’s nose and gums bleed profusely with just a few blows. The scene was shocking, and her gaze and expression were truly striking.
Her eyes were very dark, now seemingly filled with a cruel and vicious smile. The corners of her lips curled without a hint of fear, as if she were a supervillain who could kill and burn without paying any price. This made them instinctively want to back away.
A thought crossed their minds—was Xu Luofu really cast out? Was she someone they could afford to offend? If she weren’t backed by someone powerful, with others cleaning up her messes, how could she be so brazen?
Yu Mingwan screamed for help, but they hesitated underfoot, more inclined to flee.
But soon, they didn’t need to hesitate anymore.
Because Xu Luofu had dropped Yu Mingwan, her knuckles still stained with crimson blood, and was now grinning fiercely as she approached them.
One boy gritted his teeth and raised his fist to charge; the other chose to turn and run.
But just as Li Chongjing at the door lifted his foot slightly, that boy was grabbed by the collar from behind by a pale hand and yanked back.
A scream erupted, then slowly faded. Xu Luofu, having vented her fiery anger, finally relaxed a bit, lifting her swan-like neck. Her vivid lips parted softly, emitting a long sigh, every muscle in her face easing.
“Xu… Xu Luofu, I won’t let you off. Do you know who my dad is?” Yu Mingwan, tears streaming down her face, dirtied and beaten, lay on the ground unable to rise. She had even lost two teeth but still shouted fiercely.
Xu Luofu lazily cast a contemptuous glance at her. “I don’t care who your dad is. Raising a little bastard like you, he’s just a big bastard himself. I wouldn’t mind beating him up too. Let’s see what he dares to do to me.”
“You… Li!” Yu Mingwan tried to speak but suddenly noticed who was standing at the door, her face changing instantly.
Xu Luofu noticed too and lazily looked toward the person at the door.
He was backlit, wearing glasses, his outline only vaguely visible. The curves of his features were distinct, the shadows and highlights perfectly balanced. He had a refined temperament, a kind of gentle elegance typical of southern men, tall—probably over six feet—and dressed neatly in an unaltered school uniform with clean generic sneakers. He carried a basket, likely on duty as a good student.
Xu Luofu glanced back at the embarrassed and miserable Yu Mingwan. “Hmm? Your crush, huh?”
Yu Mingwan bit her lip.
Xu Luofu stood up and walked toward the door.
Her expression was mischievous, her eyes full of the devilish glee of someone eager to tease. Having witnessed Xu Luofu’s recent assault, with blood still smeared on her face and knuckles, anyone seeing her approach would tremble with fear, trembling and wanting to beg for mercy.

Li Chongjing’s mind alarmed sharply, snapping him out of a strange daze—not out of fear of being hit. He watched Xu Luofu approaching with ill intent, hearing in his mind the sound of paper unfolding.
[In the future, you will meet a woman named Xu Luofu and become her loyal pawn, emptying your wallet for her, doing all sorts of bad deeds, and even losing your life…]
His rationality warned him, yet Li Chongjing’s eyes remained fixed on Xu Luofu’s face, unable to look away, his feet firmly planted, motionless.
As Xu Luofu drew near, she caught a faint bitter scent of traditional herbs from him. She paused, leaned closer to smell again, then heard the pounding of his heartbeat.
Looking up, Xu Luofu met Li Chongjing’s unwavering gaze behind his glasses. His thin double eyelids framed phoenix-like eyes perfectly suited to his elegant, ink-wash painting-like handsome face. It was easy to understand why Yu Mingwan liked him.
Xu Luofu noticed his pupils dilating.
Hmm? She recalled a psychology expert in a drama mentioning that sudden pupil dilation toward someone could mean what? Fear? Desire? Well… probably fear, since his heartbeat was so loud it was almost deafening.
Useful knowledge often slips away from a dull mind like his, so he tilted his head and dismissed the question. Xu Luofu smirked wickedly and continued her mischief.
“Hey, Yu Mingwan likes you. Do you like her too?” Xu Luofu asked, glancing at Yu Mingwan sprawled on the floor, struggling to get up. Oh dear, she looked about to be seriously injured from anger—hahaha.
Yu Mingwan’s family wasn’t the wealthiest or most powerful in school but was definitely the hardest to provoke because she was reckless, never thinking things through, only seeking momentary pleasure. One day she could cause a disaster so huge she’d be sentenced to death. And she had a doting father.
Since freshman year, Yu Mingwan had been pestering Li Chongjing, who had always avoided giving her a chance to confess to prevent her from going into a rage and targeting him after rejection.
It wasn’t that Li Chongjing couldn’t handle her if it came to that, but better safe than sorry—her father was the principal controlling his precious scholarship.
Now Xu Luofu’s question was a deadly trap. If he said he didn’t like her, Yu Mingwan would hate him forever, and the tens of thousands of scholarship money per semester would likely vanish.
The correct answer was to avoid replying directly and use some vague excuse to dodge it…
Li Chongjing’s mouth: “I don’t like her.”
Li Chongjing: ……
Yu Mingwan’s face, previously a little shy and nervous, turned as black as a pot bottom.
Xu Luofu burst into laughter. This was the fate of anyone daring to bully her—not only physical punishment but psychological attack as well.
She laughed freely, almost appearing innocent and naive, completely unaware that Li Chongjing was staring fixedly at her, pupils still dilated, his gaze deep.
After laughing, she patted Li Chongjing’s chest. “I’m very pleased with your answer. There aren’t many sensible and obedient people like you in this lousy school.”
“Bang!”
“Hey, Chu Rao, you stepped on me!” a noise came from outside the warehouse window.

Xu Luofu glanced at the window, feeling a bit annoyed at someone sneaking a peek at the spectacle, but decided to let it go.
Alright, hungry now, time to go home and eat.
Xu Luofu put away her expression, wearing a world-weary face as she looked at Li Chongjing blocking her path. “Move.”
Li Chongjing stared at her for two seconds, then slowly stepped aside. If Xu Luofu stepped a little to the side, she could pass without touching him.
But who was Xu Luofu? When she didn’t want to detour, the whole world had to make way for her. So she walked straight ahead, shoulder-checking Li Chongjing aside, holding her head high and strutting away.
Li Chongjing stood still, unconsciously touching the spot where she had hit him, taking a deep breath.
“Ah Chong!” Chu Rao and Wei Cheng ran over, shouting loudly. Wei Cheng said, “Damn, we almost thought you were going to get beaten up too!”
After being rejected by Li Chongjing, they had gone to find Yu Mingwan and the others at the scene, but it seemed Yu Mingwan had already decided to go all out this time and didn’t want outsiders watching—guessing she still had some reservations.
So Chu Rao, Wei Cheng, and the others couldn’t find them at first but rushed over once they got the news. They had been watching from another window.
This display of bullies getting beaten instead left them dumbfounded, frozen in shock.
“Ah Chong, what’s wrong? Scared?” Wei Cheng asked, noticing his absent look.
Li Chongjing lowered his gaze, his long lashes trembling slightly. He shook his head silently, momentarily appearing delicate and fragile.
“You too, man. Seeing her beating people like that, you didn’t run away but just stood there watching.”
“Yeah, we were waving frantically at the window, but you didn’t see a thing.”
Silent Chu Rao looked at Li Chongjing with puzzled eyes. He had just told Yu Mingwan he didn’t like her, falling straight into Xu Luofu’s trap. Such an awkward response wasn’t like him, especially since his precious scholarship was at stake…
At that moment, hurried footsteps approached outside. They turned to see Principal Yu Zhenghui arriving swiftly with security guards. Clearly, he had already heard about Yu Mingwan being beaten.
Wei Cheng said, “Tsk, our arrogant transfer student still has one big hurdle to overcome.”
This hurdle was tough—Yu Zhenghui wasn’t a student. Such a cunning and sly adult couldn’t be intimidated by loud voices or beaten into submission.
