“Master, what shall we have for dinner? Why not have the kitchen prepare some hot pot? The weather is cold, and it would be just the thing to warm you up.”
Shuizhu made no mention of what had just happened.
By the time everything was finished, it was already past nine in the evening. Yue Xiangru and the soldiers, exhausted to the point of collapse, hurriedly ate a little hot food and drank some hot water. After arranging the night-watch shifts, they simply found a spot and fell asleep where they stood.
Wang Jin’s heart turned utterly cold. He was gripped by a sense of dejection and disappointment unlike anything he had ever felt before. He had never imagined—truly, never imagined—that his own subordinates would do such a thing, while the other comrades acted as though it were perfectly natural.
“Yuan Shikai certainly is generous. He gave up two provinces in one stroke!” After receiving the report, Wang Jin could not help letting out a soft laugh.
Although the fighting had now subsided, the members of the Yamaguchi-gumi showed not the slightest hesitation. They poured out in full force, frantically searching every corner of their territory for the infiltrating squad. Unfortunately, they had no idea that Zifeng and the others had already returned safely to the Black Dragon Society.
I placed one hand on the door and pushed with all my strength. With a bang, it flew open.
“To prove that I have courage, I’ll say it again: I will not marry you!” Xia Chenxi spoke with remarkable calm. Perhaps only she could remain so composed beneath Tang Yebai’s murderous gaze.
There was no denying that Cai E enjoyed immense prestige; in the military circles of the southwest, he was practically regarded as a god of war. Yet his credentials were too shallow. Even Jiang Baili had been ostracized in Beiyang, so compared with those old veterans known as the Three Pillars of Beiyang, Cai E’s experience was simply inadequate. Accustomed to wielding power, he had come to the Army Department determined to make his mark.
If things continued like this, he would likely become the target of everyone’s hostility without Ye Jiuli even needing to say a word.
There were genuine antiques and fakes alike along Antique Street. If you bought a counterfeit, you could only blame your own bad luck; if you found a hidden treasure, you could make a fortune. Everything depended on your own judgment.
Yet the man remained completely at ease. He straightened up again and continued bouncing one leg over the other, practically wishing for them to erupt on the spot. His expression seemed to say that he would be delighted if the whole world descended into chaos.

After the three of them had astonished one another, Xia Quanyin refused to be outdone. He worked exceptionally hard while helping Yuhang capture spirit beasts, making the bashful Yuhang so happy that he could hardly close his mouth.
Wen Zhong’s expression changed. They were almost at Xiqi, yet this incident had suddenly arisen; it would certainly damage the army’s morale. The Four Heavenly Lords of Huanghua Mountain had only just pledged allegiance to Wen Zhong and were eager for an opportunity to distinguish themselves. Deng Zhong, the leader of the four, volunteered at once and rode his horse out of the formation.
When Zhao Xu returned to the Charity Bureau for Children, he discovered that Wang Yinglin and many of the bureau’s officials were waiting for him at the entrance.
“Su Ying! Don’t force yourself!” Lin Qingyu’s entire body tensed. She hurriedly spoke, then suddenly embraced Su Ying. Su Ying looked to be in great pain, and there was a strong possibility that she was showing signs of going berserk.
“No!” The First Matriarch, Kardashian; the Second Matriarch, Hilton; and the Eighth Matriarch, Sharon Stone, all turned pale with fright. Their faces drained of color as they cried out sharply.
What he found most inconceivable was that his soul inherently possessed a quality of perpetual vitality and relentless self-strengthening. That quality did not change in the slightest with his thoughts or emotions. It existed in the most natural way possible, as though everything were simply meant to be so.
“If all the radiance is absorbed by your body instead of being cast onto the ground, then you have reached the Spirit-Hiding Rank, which qualifies you to enter the Inner Sect directly.”
Xiang Ningxuan was among the first few people to record the program. The main video footage had already been provided by the Dragon Cavalry Army. He only needed to give one exclusive interview and pose for a few photographs; the whole thing could be finished in a day or two.
Besides, he was not particularly worried. With so many guards, together with himself, there was no way Jiang Chen could break through.
Moreover, Loli recognized her merely from hearing her voice, which clearly showed that the two shared a deep connection.
A searing pain spread across the other half of Zhang Jianxin’s face. Zhang Jianxin, who had been wearing a solemn expression, suddenly burst into a frenzied laugh.

He saw that the bandits were assembling catapults. Three enormous machines were being put together, each throwing arm more than thirty feet long. The baskets at the front were also huge, clearly capable of holding a great deal of counterweight.
After worrying about Amir Khan, he finally began paying attention to Xiang Zuo. Yet Xiang Zuo gave no response either, and he relaxed considerably. He had not expected a thin captain barely over five feet tall to appear, and this put his mind completely at ease. At the same time, that unmistakably British tone returned.
The other great powers were in much the same situation. Although ancient beings were continually awakening from their slumber, they could not seize too much authority or influence in the short term, because the true rulers standing above these forces were the Heavenly Soldiers and Imperial Weapons.
Fang Huairan smiled in response. With a movement of his spiritual sense, the blue light of the Mirror of the Myriad Worlds swept over him and transported him inside.
Facing the bandits drawing ever nearer, the soldiers continued fighting in a state of mounting tension. Some were so nervous that they could no longer even draw their crossbows.
One had to understand that beings such as the Heavenly Dragon Crown Prince and the Heavenly Serpent Crown Prince possessed talents surpassing even imperial potential. They were destined to attain the rank of Great Emperor, and might even reach the position of Heavenly Venerable.
Considering that this appeared on the treasure list for Wolf-ranked disciples, he remained skeptical.
His voice was filled with profound helplessness and heartache. Moisture welled in his eyes as he looked at Leng Huaxuan. It seemed that the Second Madam was truly both furious and heartbroken.
“Brother, when you go to take revenge this time, take me with you!”
Lan’er spoke to Ye Canxue. Clearly, Ye Canxue’s ragged appearance when he returned the last time had remained impossible for Lan’er to forget. Ling’er was Ye Canxue’s sword spirit, and in truth was much like Chiyou. Everything belonging to Ling’er could also be said to belong to Ye Canxue.
