Volume 1, Chapter 27: The Mystery of the Senior Sister
The formation within the magical artifact...
Qin Zheng immediately looked at the jade hairpin, instantly spotting a barely perceptible crack in its center.
His heart skipped a beat. Oh no, I touched it with my hands just now, but I forgot about the little flame...
"What a bloodthirsty palm technique." Jiang Huairen’s expression turned grave. This technique seemed birthed from a mountain of corpses and a sea of blood—it was truly sinister. Without invoking the power of the Dragon Seal, Jiang Huairen met the bloody streak of light with a single pointed finger. His fingertip shimmered with brilliant starlight, as if a star were plummeting from the heavens; it was the Meteor Finger.
With that said, he led Zhang Tian toward the doctor's laboratory. There was practically no one else around, making it a suitable place for a conversation.
Seeing the beam of light shooting toward him, Ming Luo did not hesitate in the slightest. He reached out and summoned Shen He and Luo Jia to his side, using them as shields to block the radiance of the God-Devouring Light.
Upon receiving the military order from the Beast King, the Snow Leopard King did not execute it immediately. Instead, he continued to lead his three brothers in the hunt for Fairy Xuejing, intending to claim her physical form to enhance their own magical powers before proceeding eastward to confront the pilgrims and the imperial army. Thus, Fairy Xuejing faced a harrowing test of life and death.
Although Xiao Shiyu was already dead and could feel no pain, Qin Zhao did not disregard her dignity. When performing the surgery to extract the bullet, he kept his movements as gentle as possible to avoid causing any unnecessary damage to her body.
"I know," Liu Changlong replied. He was well aware that the man before him hailed from Wudang and was a senior martial brother of Wang Yangming, having come specifically because of Wang Yangming’s crippling.
Ling Yu obediently walked into the inner room, leaving only Zhang Tian and Ling Shan in the living room. Observing Ling Shan’s mysterious demeanor, Zhang Tian had no idea what the man was planning.
In reality, White Cloud City had not been established for long, and following the betrayal by Xia Zhiliang and the mysterious disappearance of all the generals, many people were already inclined to choose Bai Qing as the City Lord. This was unlike the Blade Emperor’s army; had it not been for Liu Batian’s order, the Mad Ant Cavalry would never have sworn to join White Cloud City.
Xuan Fang’s actions quickly stirred the spirits of the garrison soldiers in Xuanyang City. Clearly, they were emboldened by the presence of a Saint among their ranks, and perhaps also because the previous few days had been too humiliating.
Upon seeing the two Flying Beast Kings charging toward him, Immortal Lord Songhe soared into the sky and unleashed the Great Songhe Divine Art. In an instant, he whipped up leaves from across the mountains and plains, blowing them toward the two Beast Kings. Unable to open their eyes, they were struck by Immortal Lord Songhe’s palm and forced to retreat with their demon forces back to Forest Eagle Mountain.
Before long, the sandstorm subsided and the dark clouds dispersed. The bright moon reappeared in the firmament. The Ten-Thousand-Year Bat King had departed with its Ten-Thousand-Bat Formation, leaving behind nothing in Lingxiu Pavilion but the corpses of poisonous bats strewn across the floor and the injured disciples of the five major sects. Under the gentle breeze and the clear moon, it was a scene of utter misery.
"This is no time for you two to be arguing; someone is coming for us," Shuang Xue said, staring into the distance.
What made Miko feel even more at a loss was that for some reason, everyone automatically cleared a path for her as she arrived, which made her feel a touch embarrassed.
For some reason, Ai Jia guiltily lowered her eyelids. She dared not look directly into Bing Chen’s cold eyes; she lacked the courage to face that icy gaze that nonetheless left her irresistibly captivated.
Without a word, Wang Yuyi, under the gaze of the handsome youth, slowly withdrew from his robe a half-foot-long horn belonging to a Fire Dragon.
Now, a great war between the Ye family and the Evil Moon Sect was imminent. Only three days ago, the Ye family had slain a Vice Sect Leader of the Evil Moon Sect, pushing the relationship between the two sides to the breaking point. The flames of war could ignite at any moment.
