Chapter One
Airport
One was handsome and suave, the other calm and reserved; the two men greeted each other with friendly punches on the shoulder.
"You're back."
"Yes."
No words were needed—they understood each other's thoughts without speaking.
"Xiahou, your president is truly lucky to have such a dedicated employee," Yuwen Xi teased.
"It's just that I'm naturally a workaholic," Xiahou Yu replied, taking the responsibility upon himself without hesitation.
Yuwen Xi raised an eyebrow. "Then I must meet her myself."
"Oh?" Xiahou Yu said, his tone full of meaning. "That might not be so easy."
Yuwen Xi only smiled, saying nothing.
"But this time, I've brought you a gift."
"A gift?" For some reason, the mention of a gift stirred an inexplicable flutter in Yuwen Xi's heart. "Yuwen, sorry, but I have important matters today—I can't join you for dinner. I'll treat you another day," Xiahou Yu apologized, clearly troubled.
"Alright, but don't forget, you owe me a lavish meal," Yuwen Xi joked.
The Buletear Group had risen rapidly in recent years, carving out a place in the world and standing shoulder to shoulder with the Yuwen Group, yet garnering even more attention. The secret lay with its enigmatic helmsman, who had never appeared before the media. All that was known was that the group's vice president was Xiahou Yu.

"Finally showing yourself?" Xiahou Yu quipped.
The sound of water from the bathroom faded; soon, a petite and flawless silhouette appeared before Xiahou Yu. Her raven silk hair was swept up, revealing a tempting face, with a hint of allure in her elusive smile. She said nothing, simply seated herself by the window, letting water droplets slide from her hair. Her gaze turned indifferent, drifting toward the distance.
A gentle breeze wafted outside, carrying over to another window.
There, seated in an office chair, was an agile figure, a deep blue light shimmering at their neck, complementing navy eyes like falling tears.
Those eyes gradually darkened, turning from blue to black, lost in thought. The quiet office was suddenly pierced by the shrill ring of the telephone.
"President Xiahou of Bluetear is here to visit," the secretary announced sternly from the other end.
"Let him in."
"Yuwen, even after all these years, your company remains as disciplined as ever. Even for me, a visit requires a formal announcement before meeting the president." The voice arrived before the man himself, laced with playful mockery.
Yuwen Xi remained silent, offering no rebuttal. Xiahou Yu—only in moments like these could he be less inaccessible.
"And who is this?" Yuwen Xi raised a brow, glancing at the woman beside Xiahou Yu.
Dressed in violet from head to toe—violet blouse, violet jodhpurs, pure white tie, pure white knee-high boots—and most striking of all, violet sunglasses that concealed half her delicate face. Behind those lenses, her intense gaze was impossible to ignore.
The feeling was strangely familiar.
"Oh, she's my assistant," Xiahou Yu said, with a meaningful look.
Yuwen Xi raised an eyebrow again, scrutinizing the woman. Her hair, black as silk, flowed straight to her waist. Though half her face was deliberately hidden, her cherry lips hinted at a beauty beyond imagination. Moreover, her perfect figure seemed to evoke a familiar stirring within him.
Suddenly, a flash of grassy green appeared in his mind. Instinctively, he touched the pendant at his neck, as a strange current shot straight through his heart.
"Ahem... ahem..." Xiahou Yu coughed dryly. Clearly, this guy still couldn't forget Ying Yue. He glanced discreetly at Ying Yue's reaction—still as unshakable as ever, which made Xiahou Yu anxious.
Yuwen Xi returned to himself, realizing his lapse, his face flushing rarely.
"Sorry," he apologized awkwardly. "Let's talk over here."
By noon, the three had reached an agreement.
"Then, how about we have a meal together?" Yuwen Xi suggested.
Xiahou Yu glanced subtly at Lan Ying Yue, then declined with a hint of apology. He could tell Ying Yue wasn't ready for such closeness yet.
Disappointment flickered in Yuwen Xi's eyes, but he said no more. He simply watched the two leave, lost in quiet reverie.
