Yingyue clung tightly to Arthur, her arms wrapped around him as her hands lingered over his smooth back. The earlier gasps had softened into delicate moans.

"Hey... why are you being so rough... it hurts..." Yingyue whispered softly, making the blood rush to Arthur’s head, his cheeks flushed crimson.

"Oh, my Lanlan, if I’m not a little forceful, how will you ever remember me?" Arthur panted, a wicked smile curling at his lips as he gazed with satisfaction at the fresh, bleeding bite mark above Yingyue’s heart.

Only pain leaves a mark on memory.

Since you have chosen to trust me, then do not regret it.

And do not, ever, let me go.

When Yingyue caught sight of the bite above her heart, she screamed, "Hey, are you trying to eat my heart?" Furious, she smacked Arthur’s back hard, leaving a vivid red handprint on his smooth skin.

Arthur let out a muffled groan but, seeing the way Yingyue’s brows knitted in pain, laughed joyfully.

"There, there, it’s nothing," he soothed, pressing a gentle kiss to the center of her forehead.

"Scoundrel, why were you so rough?" Yingyue pouted, tapping Arthur’s chest in mock anger. "Do you think I’m like you, all thick-skinned and invulnerable?!" She shot him a glare full of exasperation.

Arthur chuckled. "Darling, at least spare a thought for me—I’ve kept myself chaste for you all these years!"

Yingyue’s cheeks turned scarlet. She dared not meet Arthur’s gaze, turning her face away and stammering, "Ch-chaste… what are you talking about…"

"What do you think?" Arthur suddenly dipped his head and pressed a hard kiss to her rosy lips.

"I… I…I—" Yingyue stammered, then suddenly snapped back to herself. "Hey, could you not always bite the same spot?" she complained, pointing to her left breast. "Look, you always bite here! Soon I won’t even be able to wear a bikini!"

"What’s there to worry about? We have our own private beach—no outsiders allowed, just the two of us. I certainly don’t mind," Arthur replied carelessly. He glanced sidelong at Yingyue, who was fuming like a locomotive, practically hissing with rage. He quickly put on a contrite face and said earnestly,

"Lanlan, it’s because this is the place closest to your heart." Arthur’s hands gently caressed Yingyue’s chest, his gaze deep and sincere. "I want your heart to remember me forever."

Hearing his words, Yingyue felt her eyes sting and turn red.

"What’s this—are you moved? Do you feel like throwing yourself into my arms and having a good cry?" Arthur teased, patting his own chest. "Come on, Lanlan, I’m always at your service."

The emotion that had welled up in Yingyue vanished in an instant; she put on a stern face.

"Hmph, as if I care."

The nerve of him, acting like he’s doing me a favor. Ignoring Arthur, Yingyue climbed out of the car and strode toward Lilith Castle. Just before she alighted, she gave Arthur’s shin a sharp kick.

"Ow, that hurts!" Arthur howled, clutching his shin. "Lanlan, are you trying to kill me?!"

Yingyue walked ahead, and at the sound of Arthur’s cries, a satisfied smile played at her lips. Hmph, that’ll teach you to be smug!

By the car door, the chauffeur’s mouth twitched uncontrollably. Your Highness, must you pretend to be so frail?

Arthur seemed to sense what the driver was thinking, and shot him a fierce glare through the rearview mirror, full of warning.

Mind your own business—just do your job and keep your nose out of mine!

With that, he alighted grandly from the car and hurried after Yingyue.

In the rearview mirror, the driver stared speechlessly at the sky and rubbed his nose.
