In the private room of the Gilded Flow Club, the lights were dazzling and intertwined. Su Wan had already downed nearly a dozen drinks, yet the man before her remained relentless.

“President Su, let me toast you. In all of North City, there aren’t many female presidents like you. Come, let’s drink!”

Su Wan could barely hold on, covering her mouth and shaking her head repeatedly. The man across from her immediately grew displeased. “What do you mean by this, President Su? Refusing my goodwill?”

“It’s not that, President Zhou, I really… can’t drink anymore.”

“Fine, if you won’t drink, then why don’t you dance for us, or sing a song?”

Su Wan’s expression darkened, but she held her composure. “President Zhou, I’m here to discuss investment, not to provide entertainment.”

President Zhou’s face instantly fell. He let out a cold laugh and slammed his glass heavily on the table. “Honestly, what’s the difference between you and an entertainer now? If you weren’t young and somewhat attractive, do you think we’d bother listening to your nonsense? Your lousy company would be bankrupt by now if I didn’t invest.”

Su Wan hadn’t expected such words; her face grew even more unsightly. She was just about to stand when a voice sounded from the doorway.

“Well now, after a whole busy evening, I hadn’t realized we had such distinguished guests at this table.”

Hearing the voice, Su Wan immediately turned her head. When she saw the man’s face, her pupils constricted ever so slightly.

He wore a white shirt, his hair a bit tousled, several buttons undone at the collar, revealing tanned skin beneath.

Wasn’t this the man she had rescued in the parking lot that day…?

Before she could say anything, President Zhou had already lost his patience. “Who are you?”

“Gentlemen, I’m the manager here, Mu Yunshen.” The man spoke with a slight curl of his lips. “You’ve all been drinking here all evening. It seems I haven’t been a good host, so I’ve arranged a little entertainment for you.”

As he finished, Mu Yunshen glanced toward the door. Several women in uniform entered and warmly took seats beside the guests.

Su Wan was momentarily stunned by the scene.

Then the man’s voice came again, “Would you like some tea?”

Su Wan was dazed for a moment, then shook her head, intending to decline. But before she could speak, something felt wrong and she rushed to the restroom, where she vomited.

Her head was spinning, and if not for sheer willpower, she might have collapsed already.

A handkerchief was handed to her.

Su Wan faltered, and when she turned, Mu Yunshen was watching her with a smile. “A young lady shouldn’t force herself to drink if she can’t handle it. See how miserable you are now.”

Su Wan said nothing, ignoring his handkerchief and instead grabbing some tissues to clean herself up.

Mu Yunshen wasn’t offended. He tucked the handkerchief away and looked at her with a cheerful expression. “I heard from Pi Zi that it was you who took me to the hospital that night in the parking lot?”

“It was nothing, Mr. Mu. You needn’t mention it.”

The restroom was cramped, and Su Wan had no desire to be further entangled with him. She quickly left.

Back in the room, laughter was louder than ever.

“President Zhou, about the investment I just mentioned…”

“President Su, you haven’t finished your drink yet!” President Zhou interjected.

The others immediately chimed in, “That’s right, drink up!”

“Oh, come on, aren’t you all being a bit hard on her?” The girl in President Zhou’s arms spoke up, sidling over to Su Wan with practiced ease. “How about this—we’ll drink together? Let’s see who can drink faster.”
