Chapter 2: Why Is He Here?
Su Wan was a little confused, but the young woman was straightforward; in the blink of an eye, she had already finished a bottle of liquor. There were five or six bottles on the table, and when Su Wan had just drunk half a bottle, the young woman had already set down the last bottle.
"Boss, how did I do?"
She didn't say much more to Su Wan, simply swayed her hips and walked back with a bright smile.
President Zhou immediately pulled her into his arms. "Excellent, just perfect!"
Then he turned to look at Su Wan. "Miss Su, you as well. How about this, bring the contract to my office tomorrow."
"Thank you, President Zhou!" Hearing those words, Su Wan nearly burst into tears. She glanced at the scene before her and had no wish to linger, so she stood up. "In that case, I won't disturb your fun any longer. I'll take my leave now."
With beauties in their arms, naturally they wouldn't make things difficult for her. Su Wan went to the front desk to settle the bill.
"Hello, miss. Brother Shen has instructed us—your table is on the house."
Su Wan paused, then frowned. "Why?"
"Those are Brother Shen's orders."
"That's not necessary. How much is it? I'll pay," Su Wan said, taking out her bank card. "Charge it."
The young woman at the front desk looked troubled, but just then caught sight of someone across the room. Her eyes instantly lit up. "Brother Shen!"
Su Wan turned around. Mu Yunshen was walking over. "What is it?"
"You said just now to comp this lady's meal, but she insists on paying..."
Mu Yunshen let out a small “oh,” took out his phone, and said, "It's not that it's free—I've already paid for you. If it makes you uncomfortable, just transfer the money to me."
"Alright." Su Wan didn't hesitate, but noticed that Mu Yunshen immediately brought up his WeChat QR code.
Su Wan frowned. "I can just scan the payment code directly."
"I only accept transfers," Mu Yunshen replied with a harmless smile.
Su Wan knew exactly what he was up to. She paused but said nothing more, added him as a contact, and transferred the money.
After reaching the parking lot, Su Wan called for a driver, and then promptly put the newly added contact into her blacklist.
Because she had drunk quite a lot, Su Wan nearly overslept the next morning. She hurried to President Zhou's company, only to be told that he was unavailable during the day and would sign the contract with her over dinner that evening.
This investment had already cost Su Wan more than a few rounds of drinking, so she wasn't about to miss another opportunity. She nodded in agreement.
President Zhou set the dinner at a well-known seafood restaurant in the northern part of the city. Su Wan was allergic to seafood, but she had no choice but to brave it and enter.
President Zhou seemed determined to keep her waiting; half an hour passed in the private room and still no sign of him. With no signal in the room, Su Wan stepped outside to call him, but instead, she spotted a familiar figure.
Wen Shaoran?
Su Wan's expression changed slightly. After a moment's thought, she began to follow him.
Just days ago, he had told her he was going on a business trip for half a month—so why was he here now?
After a short while, Su Wan saw him pull another woman into his arms.
She recognized that woman too.
She had seen this woman's profile picture on Wen Shaoran's phone before. He had told her she was just a client.
Su Wan's hand clenched unconsciously.
Wen Shaoran didn't notice her. He led the woman into a private room, and as they reached the door, Su Wan heard the woman's voice.
