Volume One, Chapter 124: The Sword's Beloved (Part 1)
“Ding ling ling.”
The blade of the Changyi Great Sword trembled wildly, as if protesting.
What mattered was that Qin Yu actually understood its meaning.
Qin Yu: ...
At a moment like this, you shouldn’t be concerned about your man’s pride.
Qin Yu raised her sword, and a warm energy enveloped her dantian, bringing that familiar, unobstructed sense of comfort.
The difference between Changyi and Qingshuang was that Qingshuang sword harnessed the surrounding spiritual energy, including that of the wielder; whereas Changyi Great Sword seemed to guide its wielder to maximize the use of their own spiritual energy.
Therefore, every time she used Changyi, she felt exceptionally refreshed.
Qin Yu lightly tapped the ground with her toe, feeling incredibly light. With the power of Changyi, she ascended nearly two meters without relying on talismans or spiritual energy.
A gentle glow radiated from Changyi, wrapping around Qin Yu’s entire body. She swung the sword in midair, and the sword aura lightly brushed against the stone statue.
Qin Yu had hoped for a surprise, but the statue remained motionless, and a row of dark lines appeared above her head.
Suddenly, Qin Yu felt as if something was forcibly inserted into her mind. After a brief discomfort, a small white figure appeared in the space of her consciousness.
“I’ll only teach you once. Watch carefully.”
A strong, vigorous voice echoed inside her mind.
The little figure danced swiftly, as if afraid Qin Yu might learn it too quickly.
Qin Yu raised her sword again, the golden light brightening a few shades.
She carefully recalled the figure’s movements in her mind, her whole body beginning to dance along.
Still as a crouching tiger, swift as a flying dragon, gentle as drifting clouds, fast as lightning — her movements were both steady and graceful.
“Blame my ignorance, but a single ‘Wow!’ can conquer the world!”
“This is a visual feast! Absolutely stunning! Entertainment sword dancing, please take notes!”
“Recording! I’m going to post this on my mini TV!”
“Post it quickly! I’m the first to save it!”
“I find this boring, all flashy and gaudy. And that Buddha just died like that? This master isn’t that impressive, is he? Wherever he goes, people die — he’s like a walking Conan.”
“Raising my hand in support: although Buddha did many bad things, I feel sorry for her! She suffered all her life, finally reunited with her mad mother, and then died just like that…”
“You feel sorry for her, but what about the villagers she killed? Don’t they deserve pity?”
“That was their parents’ fault, not theirs. Collective punishment doesn’t seem right, does it?”
“May I ask the person above, what gives you the right to speak of forgiveness? Do you know what Buddha’s mad mother went through? She was violated, traded like an object, imprisoned, suffering immense physical and mental harm. To you, this generation may not have done terrible things, but to Buddha and her mother, those people’s blood carries the harm they inflicted!”
“Exactly! You have no right to forgive on Buddha’s behalf!”
“What’s worse is these people glorify their own actions! It’s disgusting!”
“This is just living the good life at others’ expense!”
Unaware of the heated barrage of comments, Qin Yu danced faster and faster. Changyi twisted and soared around her like a golden dragon, spiraling left and right.
When the dance ended, sweat beads the size of soybeans slid down her forehead. She felt an exhilarating sense of fulfillment and liberation.
Every cell in her body seemed ignited. She could clearly sense the quietly reborn spiritual energy in this barren land.
She raised her sword once more, brimming with confidence.
At that moment, her entire being shone with radiant light!
“I think I see the light!”
“Boom!”
The stone statue collapsed, releasing a wisp of violet energy.
Qin Yu carried Changyi behind her back with one hand, forming a hand seal with the other. The violet energy slowly took shape — a figure in her most beautiful form.
Her features were delicate and enchanting, especially those narrow fox-like eyes, capable of intoxicating anyone who met their gaze.
Her pale purple gauzy dress floated ethereally, with matching ribbons drifting in the air.
She gazed tenderly at Qin Yu — or rather, at the Changyi Great Sword behind her back.
The once restless Changyi Great Sword suddenly grew calm, completely transformed as if it were a different blade.
Azi’s fox eyes drooped slightly, the surprise on her face gradually replaced by disappointment and sorrow.
“Do you… despise me?”
