Volume 8: The Super Mission 'Vitality vs. Death Intent' Chapter 7: The Sacred Judgment, The Holy Unicorn
Having understood everything, Li Bin immediately wrote down the cause and effect of the Forest Coverage Plan orchestrated by the Green Leaf Alliance and entrusted the Ghost Crow to deliver it to Disya, the Lonely Song of the Deep Sea, and the Melancholy Melody Man.
Li Bin firmly believed that no matter their strength or intentions, they would choose to help him accomplish the task of "Forest's End."
Sure enough, before long, the Breath Slime sent by the Melancholy Melody Man returned with his reply. He agreed to assist Li Bin against the Green Leaf Alliance and revealed an important piece of information: not long ago, all players who had completed more than ten series of the "Life vs. Death" tasks received a new system notification. It indicated that a player had chosen an alternative main storyline and was about to sabotage the Forest Coverage Plan.
In other words, Li Bin’s current position had been exposed, and the Green Leaf Alliance would undoubtedly regard him as their primary enemy.
As Li Bin contemplated how many might know this news and what impact it would have on his future plans, Disya’s communication golden bat arrived.
Disya said little, sending only one sentence: "The territories I conquer within the Green Leaf Alliance are mine."
Li Bin naturally did not argue and nodded in agreement. The communication golden bat then proudly handed Li Bin a map before bursting into laughter and flying away.
Opening the map, Li Bin saw that during this period, Disya’s forces had advanced deep into the Green Leaf Alliance’s territory, occupying lands far larger than Li Bin’s own domain.
Considering the battles ahead, Li Bin was confident Disya would claim more than half of the Green Leaf Alliance’s lands.
However, there was still no word from the Lonely Song of the Deep Sea. Li Bin even waited three days on the dunes, during which the terrifying knights of the Undead Seven Lords Alliance had arrived, yet the Lonely Song gave no response.
Understanding the Lonely Song might be unwilling to join this mission, Li Bin did not press further. After all, the Lonely Song was also a player with no subordinate relationship to him; he could not force anyone to act.
Without the news he hoped for, Li Bin did not stay longer. He knew the sooner the task was completed, the sooner he could relax. Checking the system prompts, he discovered that the Green Leaf Alliance could not plant forests just anywhere. They used a quest item provided by Claus: the Shepherd's Whip.
Li Bin realized that if he could destroy or steal this item, even if he couldn’t completely thwart the Forest Coverage Plan, he could indefinitely delay the Green Leaf Alliance’s completion of the task.
Therefore, whether he wished it or not, Li Bin had to make a trip to the Green Leaf Alliance headquarters. Only there could he find the most suitable way to fulfill the mission.
But where was the Green Leaf Alliance’s headquarters? Li Bin had no clue. With Bailingyu and their heroic subordinates, he began searching slowly from the northernmost part of the mainland, moving southward.
They hoped this method would lead them to the hidden headquarters. After several days of searching, the scout Shenling suddenly sent back an urgent letter carried by the Ghost Crow.
The message was brief: "Be careful! The enemy is strong."
Upon seeing this, Li Bin immediately summoned his troops and swiftly cleared the nearby forest, carving out a ten-kilometer radius of open ground in the shortest time possible.
He then camped at the northern edge of the clearing and told Bailingyu and the others, "Shenling is usually very proud; if she says the enemy is strong, then they must be formidable. This enemy is likely an elite assassin sent by the Green Leaf Alliance after discovering our existence. If we defeat them, we will surely learn the location of the Green Leaf Alliance’s headquarters."
"Agreed," Bailingyu said, approving Li Bin’s plan. "But we must also prepare contingencies. What if the enemy dies in battle? What if they refuse to speak? These possibilities need to be considered."
As they discussed, Jessica suddenly rushed to Li Bin’s side. "Master, a strong aura of holiness is rushing this way."
"Holy aura?" Li Bin sprang up immediately. "Could it be that they’ve summoned angels? No, they’re nature-aligned; how could there be holy energy?"
Li Bin’s reaction was understandable. As an undead player, while holy energy wasn’t specifically deadly to his troops, it was still quite unpleasant.
Before Jessica could respond, troops surged from the southern forest, revealing the truth.
Leading them was a snow-white unicorn with long silver horns, bearing a white battle flag adorned with a unicorn’s head.
Following slowly behind was a tall unicorn, covered in pure white fur and sporting a fifty-centimeter silver horn. Behind him marched three squads of silver unicorns and about five squads of ordinary unicorns.
The tall unicorn fixed his gaze on Li Bin and spoke in a strange voice, "You must be Li Bin. I am the Divine Judgment, the Holy Unicorn. I have been ordered to deal with you. If you surrender your current mission, I can spare your life."
"Abandon the mission? Do you think that’s possible?" Li Bin chuckled.
"If you refuse, don’t blame me for being impolite. I warn you, my silver unicorn squads are all level twelve, and even the ordinary unicorns I command are level ten. With my Holy Light, my troops deal increased damage to your undead forces."
"Oh, really?" Li Bin replied unconcernedly. "I just received three squads of level twelve Terrifying Knights and level nine Death Knights. Although their levels are lower than your troops’, I think a direct clash could be quite a spectacle."
Divine Judgment glanced around, realization dawning. "So that’s why you painstakingly cleared such a large area—to maximize the strength of your Terrifying and Death Knights."
"Exactly," Li Bin affirmed. "But to lessen the impact of your Holy Light on my troops, I’ll need to bless them with something."
"I’d like to see what you can possibly bless your troops with," Divine Judgment said dismissively.
